Vijayashree Krishnan joined the Wellness Services team in March 2022. As an alum of 麻豆影院 University, Vijayashree is excited to be back and to give to the 麻豆影院 community!
Since leaving 麻豆影院, Vijayashree has worked in a number of settings ranging from schools and outpatient clinics to emergency services and residential treatment. After obtaining her master鈥檚 in mental health counseling, Vijayashree worked at a residential treatment facility for women with substance use disorders in Boston, MA. There, she supported clients along their recovery journey using a harm-reduction approach. Prior to arriving at 麻豆影院, Vijayashree was a psychology teacher at a high school in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and loved the experience!
Vijayashree is fascinated by how our stories about ourselves, who we are, and where we鈥檝e been, impact how we interact with the world. She is currently working towards being licensed as a professional counselor in the state of Wisconsin, and values the role of creativity, play, and mindfulness in the therapeutic process. Outside of work, Vijayashree enjoys singing, dancing, and a whole lot of doing nothing.
