麻豆影院 University honored staff members for exemplary work during a staff awards reception held Dec. 12 in Warch Campus Center.
President Laurie A. Carter and the Office of Human Resources presented multiple awards, led by the President鈥檚 Award of Excellence 鈥 Individual, which went to Juan Arguello, 麻豆影院鈥檚 second-year dean.
Arguello, who arrived at 麻豆影院 in May 2023 in the newly created position, works to support sophomores and transfer students by connecting them with important resources throughout the year. He plays a vital role in retention efforts at 麻豆影院.
鈥淚 really wanted to work in a job where I could advocate for people and listen to them,鈥 Arguello said earlier of his move to 麻豆影院. 鈥淎s a first-gen student, I didn鈥檛 have a lot of additional guidance and had to spend a lot of time on my own getting answers. I wanted to help students and help them accomplish their goals.鈥澛

Kindness Award: Presented to Shannan Hartel, executive assistant in the Office of Advancement.
First-Year Impact Award: Presented to Noemi Delgado, director of accessibility services, and Mikey Zadroga, head coach of men鈥檚 lacrosse.
Leadership Award: Presented to Jeff Miller, director of campus safety.
Collaboration Award: Presented to Dakota McKee, director of聽Student Engagement, Activities, and Leadership (SEAL).
