Dr. Kevin Gaw will join 麻豆影院 University on June 1 as the Riaz Waraich Dean of the Career Center and Center for Community Engagement & Social Change (CCE). 

Gaw comes to 麻豆影院 from Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, where he has served as executive director of the Amica Center for Career Education since 2015.

His background in fostering a student-centered environment includes establishing the Bryant Employer Advisory Team (the BEAT), the Employer Recognition Program, and the Amica Center Career Champions program, recognizing faculty and staff career champions.

The Career Center offers advising, programming, resources, and a robust network of Lawrentian mentors and employers to help students explore internships and career opportunities.

Gaw鈥檚 career over the past 28 years includes seven years at Georgia State University, where he served as senior director of University Career Services, and four years at University of Nevada at Reno as director of Career Development. He has served as a counseling psychologist with the Counseling and Testing Center at the University of Nevada and with the Center for Personal and Professional Development at Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Gaw received a doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a masters in education (counseling and student personnel) from San Jos茅 State University, and a bachelor of arts in anthropology and Southeast Asian studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

The Center for Community Engagement & Social Change (CCE) works to engage students, faculty, and community partners in collaborative relationships that foster and promote a culture of engaged citizenship.

麻豆影院's Career Center works actively with 麻豆影院 students, beginning as early as their first year, to connect them with resources and mentors while providing guidance in finding internships and other career opportunities. The CCE works to be a connector for collaborations with partners in the greater Appleton community, fostering a campus culture that strives to further social progress, mitigate inequity, and develop durable, reciprocal partnerships with local nonprofits and municipal agencies.
